SoftLab is a new interdisciplinary textiles and fibers lab located in the Department of Interior Architecture. It is a hub where students, faculty and staff apply their academic research of natural and synthetic soft fibrous materials to interior environments and products.
Softlab offers a variety of machine and hand tools for students to imagine, explore, experiment, discover, and implement ideas into fully realized designs.
SoftLab is currently open only to UNCG Interior Architecture students, faculty and staff who are working on their academic research for departmental studies or Interior Architecture job responsibilities. Before using the lab, anyone who is interested must have received prior training on all industrial equipment in a scheduled course with the SoftLab Director. Please check with the director to find out which courses include the required training and when they will be available.
