  • Anna Marshall-Baker, the current IARc Department Chair received the prestigious Arnold Friedmann Educator of Distinction Award from the Interior Design Educators Council. The award is presented to an IDEC member in recognition of significant, sustained, and distinguished contributions in interior design education. One reviewer wrote that “[Anna’s] dedication to the industry through education, mentoring, service and scholarship is evident through the many theses she has guided, the articles that she has published, and the faculty she has touched.”
  • We are pleased to announce that Travis Hicks was awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor. This is a laudable accomplishment based in part on Travis’ leadership regarding the department’s involvement in community-engaged or public interest design. Throughout his academic career at UNCG Travis has received numerous awards for teaching and recognition for his work with community partners. We all are thrilled that Travis is now a tenured member of the faculty and look forward to his continued work with IARc.
