The Winston-Salem chapter of the American Institute of Architecture is working with A/perture Cinema to present a film series focused on the relationships between design and society. More info here: https://www.aiawinstonsalem.org/event/aiaws-film-series-the-land-of-many-palaces/
Their first presentation on April 25th will be of “The Land of Many Palaces”, which shows the social and infrastructural implications of resettling rural communities into a newly built (and mostly empty) city in China.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with faculty and students from UNC Charlotte’s Urban Planning program. We will discuss the film and the interaction between rural and urban communities in our own region.
Please consider attending!
