Interior Designer, DTW Architects & Planners
Originally from Venezuela, Isabel moved to Greensboro, NC to pursue her MFA in Interior Architecture. During her studies, she discovered her passion for school design and sustainability and earned the LEED Green Associate credential after attending Greenbuild as part of a class trip. Her design work was recognized by the SOURCE Awards in 2018 at the LIGHTFAIR International Expo in Chicago. These experiences along with her internship with Guilford County Schools prepared Isabel for her work in the field.
After graduating in 2018, Isabel started working for DTW Architects & Planners, a commercial design firm in Durham, NC that incorporates sustainability into all their projects. As part of her responsibilities, she assists in all project design phases including schematic design, design development, and preparing construction documents. She also selects and coordinates interior finishes and furniture, prepares graphic materials for presentations, and creates 3D views of the prospective projects. Isabel became a LEED AP (BD+C) in 2020 and her next goal is to earn her NCIDQ certificate.
