On April 21, 2017, IARc faculty and students enjoyed the 2017 IARc Beaux Arts Ball; hosted by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) UNCG Chapter. Located in the UNCG Alumni House, the atmosphere felt auspicious to match the Old Hollywood Masquerade theme.
Students came disguised in their handmade masks and costumes and had the opportunity to enter them in a contest judged by professors and students. There were four winners who received Oscar trophies and the overall best mask and costume got a Fandango gift card.
The guest list included students from all four years who came dressed in a variety of formal wear. From prom dresses, suits and ties to cocktail dresses, almost everyone had a mask, either handmade or store bought.
Along with food, music, a dance floor, there was a very popular photo room where guests enjoyed taking pictures with each other. The 2017 Beaux Arts Ball gave IARc a chance to have fun and let loose on a non-academic level; something everyone benefits from at the end of the school year!
