Architectural Associate, Integrus Architecture

Malaknaz received her bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2011 from Iran and worked there for multiple years as an architect and interior design. To continue her passion in healthy indoor environments, she pursued her graduate degree in Interior Architecture at UNCG focusing on the impact of daylighting in design of workstation partitions in open-plan offices. During her studies, she was awarded an USGBC Scholarship for Greenbuild International Conference & Expo and earned the LEED Green Associate credential. She was also selected as the winner of the International VELUX Award 2016 for students of architecture in the Americas region. This project analyzed the amount of controlled daylight and evaluating the impact of manual and automated blinds on the performance of daylighting and energy consumption in a high rise open-plan office building.

Malaknaz worked  at firms in North Carolina, Idaho, and Oregon before joining Integrus Architecture. Her work has included daylighting design as well as taking school projects from concept to design to construction.
