Video Transcript:
- Select Room Estimator from the Design Tools pull-down menu.
- You can save three different layouts and compare them.
- You start by choosing a layout and assigning a name to it.
- Select the luminaire that you want to use in the calculations. The luminaire should be defined in your project before you go into the room estimator dialog box. However, you can alter the orientation of the luminaire here.
- Assign the room geometry. AGi32 can only do rectangular spaces. Specify the length, width, height of the space. Specify the workplane height and the suspension length for the luminaire.
- Go to the Reflectance tab to assign the reflectances of different surfaces in the space.
- Specify the desired illuminance in the space, or the number of luminaires desired in the space, or the desired lighting power density. So say if I wanted the desired illuminance to be 30 fc on the workplane, I would set it up. AGi32 computes the number of luminaires required in the space to be 8.
- You can further determine the luminaire layout, by setting the row and column quantity or spacing/ or wall spacing. You can also add a ceiling grid; and specify if the rows or columns need to be continuous.
- You can now choose another layout and follow the same process to compute the desired illuminance.
